What is it?
The J1 Work and Travel is a cultural exchange programme that allows college and university students who are enrolled as full-time students to go to the USA to share their culture and ideas through temporary work and travel opportunities.
Why should you participate?
The Work and Travel Programme is an incredible opportunity to explore the United States, meet people from around the world, experience American culture, and share your own culture with others. More than just a summer job, this is a life-changing cultural exchange experience that allows you to step outside your comfort zone, gain valuable work experience, become more independent, and develop a new perspective on life.
During the programme, you’ll work alongside Americans and people from different countries, giving you the chance to build international friendships, experience different cultures, and create unforgettable memories, all in one place!
Whether travelling abroad has always been a dream of yours or you’re already someone who loves to explore new places, the Work and Travel Programme is the perfect opportunity to travel, work, learn, and experience something truly unforgettable.
Requirements:
- Applicants should be 18+.
- Should have a GPA of 2.0 or above
- Available for May-June start dates
- Able to stay in the US for 3-4 months.
Fees:
Membership fee: J$7000
Programme Fee: US $1970 (includes insurance, SEVIS, DS-2019, administrative, and sponsor fees)
Payment options:

- Bank Transfer
- Stripe (incurs additional fees)

Documents required to get started:
- 2 passport-sized pictures
-Copy of passport (should be valid for up to 6 months after job end date)
- Completed Registration, Prescreen, and Terms & Conditions forms
*Registration is incomplete without membership fee payment.

- Complete registration documents and submit with proof of payment.
- Pay your US$650 deposit within 10 business days

Work and travel for me, has been a wonderful experience. I got the chance to meet people from all over the world and some of them I call friends. I've participated in activities that I've never done before, ate food from different countries and been places I've never been before.
